Grace in the Nutcracker My family with Bambi at Pages tree farm

Hey, welcome to my portfolio. When I was a kid I always enjoyed mucking around with computers. It is not a big surprise to anyone from my past that I am still involved in the old bits and bytes.

My pal Jan and I do consulting, training and implementation of the odd set of tools known as the Open Source Portfolio. I've been involved in Sakai for about 4 or 5 years now. We like it just fine.

This training session is going to run you through the process of building the necessary components to build OSP forms and templates to do something pretty close to what Marist was thinking about for a portfolio concept.

We got here from a few rough ideas from the Marist staff:

About Me

Sean Keesler

I received my B.S. in Forest Biology from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in 2000 and M.S. in Information Management in the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University in 2008. Following 6 years of service in the U.S. Navy as an electronic equipment maintenance technician and reactor plant operator on a nuclear submarine and 2 years of experience as a computer support technician, I joined the Living SchoolBook as a Science Field Coordinator.

At the LSB I coordinated several technical projects and activities in support of teaching and learning for the School of Education and K12 environments. I administered the School of Education's instance of Sakai and OSP. I also maintained many of the school's technical resources and serve as Instructional Technology Analyst and Project Manager in support of faculty, teachers, and students.

While I enjoyed working in the School of Education, the position wasn't funded beyond May 2008 (the end date of the grant funding). I was briefly employed by rSmart as a Functional Consultant, but was let go as part of a restructuring effort right after I started. I am a co-founder of Three Canoes a consulting group which offers training, support, technical and implementation services for schools interested in deploying Sakai and OSP.

My current interests include:

  • The IT role in Higher Ed and K12 systems.
  • Strategic uses of FOSS to achieve institutional objectives.
  • The implementation and development of learning management and portfolio systems which provide tools that encourage differentiated instruction and deepen the relationship between teachers and students.

I have been married for 9 years to my beautiful wife, Kristy. We have a daughter (Grace - 6 years old) and a son (Alex - 3 years old).

Lesson 2

This is my boss, Jonathan Hart, a self-made millionaire, he's quite a guy. This is Mrs H., she's gorgeous, she's one lady who knows how to take care of herself. By the way, my name is Max. I take care of both of them, which ain't easy, 'cause when they met it was MURDER!

Top Cat! The most effectual Top Cat! Who's intellectual close friends get to call him T.C., providing it's with dignity. Top Cat! The indisputable leader of the gang. He's the boss, he's a pip, he's the championship. He's the most tip top, Top Cat.

Lesson 3

Mutley, you snickering, floppy eared hound. When courage is needed, you're never around. Those medals you wear on your moth-eaten chest should be there for bungling at which you are best. So, stop that pigeon, stop that pigeon, stop that pigeon, stop that pigeon, stop that pigeon, stop that pigeon, stop that pigeon. Howwww! Nab him, jab him, tab him, grab him, stop that pigeon now.

Thunder, thunder, thundercats, Ho! Thundercats are on the move, Thundercats are loose. Feel the magic, hear the roar, Thundercats are loose. Thunder, thunder, thunder, Thundercats! Thunder, thunder, thunder, Thundercats! Thunder, thunder, thunder, Thundercats! Thunder, thunder, thunder, Thundercats! Thundercats!

Another Page

Although it isn't specifically asked for in this portfolio template, I decided I wanted another page. I am a rebel at heart and will not be bound by the constraints of this box! Don't label me! I am a "Free Thinker"!

Ten years ago a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem and no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-team.
